The Medical Assistant –The Medical Assistant (MA) is a critical role to support the PCP day-to-day and ensure efficiency in the care provided to patients. MAs will work closely and collaboratively with their teammates to greet and room the members. S/he will be expected to assist in assessing patient’s health conditions, including performing routine diagnostic testing during appointments.
+ Welcome members upon arrival and help them feel safe and at home, navigating through a seamless and clear check-in process
+ Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals for a multi-disciplinary care team
+ Update member information in the electronic medical records system
+ Request medical records and upload documentation to electronic medical records system
+ Conduct intake with patients, measuring and recording vital signs, patient interview, and medical history; perform examinations and routine screenings, ensuring patients are informed and all questions and concerns are addressed for each procedure
Required Skills/Abilities
+ Must possess a high degree of emotional intelligence and integrity, driven and focused work ethic
+ Self-starter with the ability to think creatively and work effectively
+ Ability to work effectively with various seniorities and diverse populations including staff, providers, members, family members, insurance carriers, vendors and market leadership
+ Strong communicator that is customer-oriented
+ Excellent critical reasoning, decision-making, and problem-solving skills to analyze situations, determine risks, and find solutions to prevent future issues and resolve recurring defects
+ Experience with claims/quality reports and analytical software packages
+ Proficient PC Skills, including Microsoft Office Suite
+ Ability to maintain professionalism and flexibility in a changing work environment
Education and Experience
+ High school diploma or equivalent education (GED) required
+ Graduation from a nationally accredited Medical Assistant program OR comparable healthcare vocational training (i.e., foreign-trained physician, paramedic, etc.) required
+ A minimum of 1 year work experience as a Medical Assistant preferred, but not required
+ 6+ months phlebotomy experience is highly desired
+ BLS for Healthcare Providers required
+ EClinicalWorks or similar EMR experience
+ Experience working with geriatric patients is a plus
Shift:
Monday - Friday
8am-5pm

**Pay Details:** $16.00 to $22.00 per hour
