We are looking for someone early in their career who is eager to learn and grow within our organization. The patient volume is approximately 130 patients daily, depending on walk-ins and scheduled appointments. You will start with a newer provider who is building their network, so the volume will be a bit slower initially. Responsibilities + Assist providers by rooming patients, obtaining blood pressure, documenting signs/symptoms, taking weight and temperature, and completing medical history documentation (30% of the time). + Set up procedures for providers, including dressing changes, catheterizations, removing castings, removing sutures and staples, breathing treatments, ear washes, cast application and DME fittings, EKGs, urinalyses, strep/flu/pregnancy tests, and other miscellaneous tests as directed (25% of the time). + Schedule tests, radiology exams, and appointments with specialists as requested. Enter all information pertaining to check-in/check-out in the EMR. Perform prior authorizations as needed and notify the office referral specialist when insurance referral is required (10% of the time). + Assist providers with office exams, collecting height, weight, BMI, and other pertinent information. Update immunization records (10% of the time). + Handle phone triage, including patient medical questions, test results, medication refills, and call-backs to patients. Also includes faxes/calls/transmits prescription refills as directed (10% of the time). + Perform walk-in patient duties as needed, including triage, blood pressures, urinalyses, medication sample requests, and collecting history and other information to relay to the provider (10% of the time). + Function as a resource to visitors, providers, and staff by greeting everyone promptly and courteously. Communicate clearly and continuously support the Mission and Values of the organization (10% of the time). + Perform additional duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator, practice site provider, and/or the VP of Physician Practices (5% of the time). + Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions (5% of the time). Essential Skills + Active CMA (AAMA), RMA, or CCMA certification required. + Successful completion of and graduation from a recognized medical assistant training course (or equivalent experience required). + High School Diploma (HSD). + Positive, outgoing attitude and willingness to 'jump in' when needed to ensure consistent patient flow and positive interactions. + Ability to stand for long periods of time. Qualifications + 2-3 years of experience working as a CMA. + Experience within family practice or pediatrics. + Experience with Point of Care (POC) testing. + Experience with EMR systems. Work Environment The position is onsite at a family outpatient clinic located in Franklin, IN. The environment is temperature-controlled with easy access to parking. The team includes 2 providers and 1 other MA, handling approximately 130 patients daily. The schedule is 8am-5pm, Monday to Friday, with no weekend work and holidays off. The daily schedule includes walk-ins from 8am-8:50am, appointments from 9am-11:30am, an hour lunch break, and appointments from 1pm-4:30pm, with closing and finishing appointments by 5pm. The clinic offers a friendly culture where everyone greets each other, and there are opportunities for growth within the organization.
