Job Title: Medical Assistant Job Description As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality healthcare services. Your responsibilities will include taking patient vital signs, stocking rooms, cleaning instruments, using the autoclave, and setting up rooms for procedures. You will also be responsible for patient intake, which includes collecting medical history, recording symptoms, greeting patients, and escorting them to exam rooms. Responsibilities + Take patient vital signs + Stock rooms and clean instruments + Use the autoclave to sterilize equipment + Set up rooms for medical procedures + Conduct patient intake by collecting medical history and recording symptoms + Greet patients and escort them to exam rooms + Provide patient care and ensure comfort + Perform phlebotomy as required + Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems such as ECW and Eclinical Works Essential Skills + Completion of a Medical Assistant program + Minimum of 6 months of medical assistant experience + Professional communication skills + Customer service ability + Knowledge of medical terminology + Proficient typing skills + Phlebotomy skills + Experience with EMR systems Additional Skills & Qualifications + Certification as a Medical Assistant (preferred but not required) + Proficiency with Microsoft Office + Strong written and verbal communication skills + Bilingual capabilities (an asset) Work Environment This position is located in a community health center, requiring the ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment. The work week is 35 hours, with 7 hours paid and 1 hour unpaid lunch each day. Candidates must be available to work 1-2 late nights per week and 1 Saturday per month if the site is open on Saturdays.
