Job Description
As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in the patient care process by performing duties such as check-in, obtaining patient information (height, weight, medical questionnaire), recording vitals such as blood pressure, and assisting the physician. This position requires a positive attitude, compassion towards patients, and the ability to work confidently with demanding providers and patient load.
ResponsibilitiesCheck-in patients and obtain essential information such as height, weight, and medical questionnaire responses.Record vital signs including blood pressure.Assist the physician during examinations and procedures.Maintain accurate medical records using EMR systems.Perform phlebotomy and handle blood pressure monitoring.Provide excellent customer service to patients.Support various medical tasks within primary care, pediatrics, internal medicine, and cardiology.Essential SkillsCertified/Registered Medical Assistant in the state of Florida (preferred).Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and EMR systems, particularly Epic.Knowledge of medical terminology and medical assisting procedures.BLS certification.Excellent communication and professional skills.Confidence in managing a demanding workload and working with multiple providers.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in primary care, internal medicine, and pediatrics.Customer service skills.Experience with medical records management.Positive attitude and compassion towards patients.Work Environment
This position is based in a fast-paced Primary Care clinic that services 120-140 patients per week. The team includes 7 physicians and several specialty providers, supported by 7 Medical Assistants, 2 Check-In and 2 Check-Out Associates, 2 Medical Records Clerks, 1 Office Float, and 4 nurses. The majority of patients are Medicare beneficiaries. The clinic offers a great work environment with opportunities for advancement, and it organizes events to show appreciation for employees.
