This is a full time position for a medical assistant in the department of Obstetrics & Gynecology, providing outpatient care for our patients and assisting our physicians in all clinical areas of the practice.
ResponsibilitiesAssist physicians, providers and nurses as a medical assistant in the daily care of our patients. Take vital signs such as height, weight, temperature, and blood pressure. May draw blood and give injections under the immediate supervision of a Physician or Registered Nurse.
Chaperone and assist during examinations, minor surgeries, office procedures and diagnostic procedures.
Prepare charts in advance for the pending office appointment as well as on the day of the appointment; creates new patient charts, checks charts for referrals and authorization prior to visit, complete prenatal lab form, obtain inpatient records, etc..
Maintain clean, well-equipped examination rooms; cleans and sterilizes instruments. Stock examination rooms and triage area with medical supplies. Inventory and reorder supplies.
Other duties as assigned.
QualificationsCompletion of a Medical Assistant program and certification (RMA or CMA). Completion of BLS class and re-certify every 2 years.
EXPERIENCE: Experience performing relevant functions in a doctor’s office preferred. Must have some working knowledge of computers. Customer service-oriented individual is required. Experience with Obstetrics, Gynecology and Urology preferred
Copy of active certification is required upon application submission.
