ACTIVELY HIRING A MEDICAL ASSISTANT IN DANBURY! Job Description We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform clinical tasks such as taking medical histories, recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, and preparing them for x-rays. This role also involves collecting and preparing laboratory specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, and ensuring a clean and organized environment. Duties may vary according to state law. Responsibilities + Take medical histories and record vital signs + Explain treatment procedures to patients + Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and perform basic laboratory tests + Dispose of contaminated supplies and sterilize medical instruments + Arrange examining room instruments and equipment + Clean and organize waiting and examining rooms + Instruct patients about medications and special diets + Authorize drug refills as directed and telephone prescriptions to a pharmacy + Prepare patients for x-rays Essential Skills + High School Diploma or GED + Medical Assistant or CNA license + 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant or in a hospital setting + Proficiency with electronic health records Additional Skills & Qualifications + Strong communication and organizational skills + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment + Compassionate and patient-centered approach Work Environment This role offers a structured work schedule from Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with occasional requirements to stay as late as 5:30 PM. No weekends or holidays are required. The position involves floating between locations in Hartford, East Hartford, Farmington, and Glastonbury, with schedules provided well in advance. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00 Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
