Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our team. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM. The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to perform clinical, technical, service, and administrative tasks to ensure the delivery of patient care is consistent with our philosophy.
ResponsibilitiesPerform lab testing, PFT, and audiometry as ordered by the physician.Admit patients to the exam room, take vital signs, medical history, medication history, and allergy history.Perform quality controls and adhere to laboratory procedures as required by CLIA regulations.Ensure patient referrals are completed and forwarded appropriately.Document treatments, telephone contacts, lab accession logs, and daily checks.Maintain examination rooms and medical areas in a clean and orderly fashion.Stock examination rooms with supplies and check supplies from vendors against packing slips.Maintain professionalism at all times and ensure patients and visitors are greeted promptly and courteously.Register and transact patients promptly and accurately using the current computer system.Update pertinent patient information, including medical insurance coverage and eligibility.Schedule patient appointments and retrieve and file medical reports/lab results.Process HMO referrals and communicate patient emergencies to the physician.Answer telephones, take messages, and ensure follow-up on all calls.Balance ledger sheets and account for all monies received, maintaining accountability for the cash box.Demonstrate a professional, courteous, and respectful attitude in dealings with patients, staff, families, and significant others.Provide instructions to patients upon discharge as per physician's instructions and notify patients of test results via telephone.Essential SkillsCertification as a Medical Assistant or one year of relevant work experience preferred.Excellent phone manners, flexibility, and knowledge of computer data entry.Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to handle diversified responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.High school diploma or GED.Experience with Epic, crisis management, laboratory procedures, telephone etiquette, medical terminology, and electronic medical records.Additional Skills & QualificationsBLS Certification.Phlebotomy experience is a plus.Work Environment
The work environment includes various locations in New York, NY, and Brooklyn, NY. Positions require weekend flexibility and specific language skills for certain locations. Shifts vary depending on the location, including standard weekday hours and extended hours on certain days. Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00
