Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our team. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for assisting healthcare providers with patient care, including rooming and intake processes, collecting and documenting vital signs, and providing patient education and follow-up instructions. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
ResponsibilitiesConduct rooming and intake processes, including collecting and documenting vital signs, height, weight, and patient visit reasons.Collect patient and family data, including medical and social history.Review patient’s current medication list, allergies, and preferred pharmacy.Assist the provider during treatments, examinations, and procedures.Collect specimens and perform phlebotomy.Administer medications under the direction of a provider.Perform tests, such as EKGs and eye exams, under the direction of a provider.Review patient records to determine if routine health screenings are required.Ensure exam/procedure rooms are stocked with appropriate supplies, equipment, forms, and educational materials.Provide patients with after-visit, follow-up, self-care, or procedural instructions and educational materials as directed.Prepare, clean, stock, and maintain exam and treatment rooms.Clean and sterilize instruments.Assist with patient registration, check-in/check-out, appointment scheduling, and scheduling of tests and treatments.Answer clinic telephone and assist in-basket under the direction of a provider or nurse.Assist in emergency situations as directed by a provider or nurse.Precept new medical assistant hires and externs, and train other medical assistants in clinic procedures.Assist the physician with maintaining preventive health measures for a panel of patients.Perform clinic-based quality or safety roles, such as clinic safety coordinator, maintaining immunization or medication registry, and conducting required audits.Manage clinic supply ordering.Essential SkillsExperience with Epic electronic medical records system.Certification as a Medical Assistant by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from AHA or ARC.Strong customer service skills.Ability to perform phlebotomy.Ability to perform essential functions outlined above.Effective communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to engage positively with patients and families.Ability to work as part of a team with staff and providers.Proficiency in using a computer to document information into the electronic medical record.At least one year of full-time experience as a Medical Assistant.Additional Skills & QualificationsCompletion of a Medical Assisting program accredited by CAAHEP or ABHES is preferred but not required.Work Environment
This is a full-time position with a schedule of 5x8-hour days, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. There are no weekend or on-call requirements. The work environment requires Basic Life Support (BLS) and Epic system proficiency.

The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $22.00
