Job Description
This position is working within a podiatry outpatient clinic that is connected to the hospital and also includes supporting the wound care facility. The team is looking for someone eager to learn and grow within the organization. The clinic sees approximately 120-160 patients monthly, including both scheduled and walk-in patients.
Responsibilities
+ Assist providers by rooming patients, obtaining blood pressure, documenting signs/symptoms, taking weight and temperature, and completing medical history documentation (30%).
+ Set up for procedures and assist providers, including performing dressing changes, removing castings, removing sutures and staples, assisting with cast application and DME fittings, and other miscellaneous tests as directed by the provider (25%).
+ Schedule tests, radiology exams, appointments with specialists, enter all information pertaining to check-in/check-out in the EMR, perform prior authorizations, and notify office referral specialist when insurance referral is required (10%).
+ Assist provider with office exams, collect height, weight, BMI, and other pertinent information, and update immunization records (10%).
+ Conduct phone triage, including handling patient medical questions, test results, medication refills, and call-backs to patients, as well as handling faxes/calls/transmits prescription refills as directed (10%).
+ Perform walk-in patient duties as needed, which may include triage, blood pressures, urinalyses, medication sample requests, and collecting patient history to relay to the provider (10%).
+ Function as a resource to visitors, providers, and staff, greet everyone promptly and courteously, and communicate clearly while supporting the organization's mission and values (10%).
+ Perform additional duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator, practice site provider, and/or VP of Physician Practices (5%).
+ Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and company policies and procedures, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions (5%).
Essential Skills
+ Active CMA (AAMA), RMA, or CCMA certification required.
+ Successful completion of and graduation from a recognized medical assistant training course (or equivalent experience required).
+ High School Diploma (HSD).
+ An upbeat, positive, outgoing attitude and willingness to ensure consistent patient flow and positive interactions.
+ Ability to stand for long periods of time.
+ Reliability and punctuality.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 1+ year of experience working as a CMA preferred.
+ Experience with EMR systems (e.g., Cerner) preferred.
Work Environment
Working onsite at the clinic located in Franklin, IN. The clinic operates in a temperature-controlled environment with easy access to parking. The team includes 2 providers and 1 other MA, handling approximately 125-160 patients a month. The schedule is 8 am-5 pm daily, Monday through Friday, with an hour lunch break. No weekend work and holidays off. Minimal overtime required. The work environment is supportive, with providers who appreciate and teach their team, fostering a family-like atmosphere. The clinic also hosts staff events such as food trucks and catered lunches.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.22 - $25.00
