Job Description
The Certified Medical Assistant is responsible for performing and assisting the physician in the office. Key responsibilities include:
• Greeting and escorting patients to exam rooms
• Rooming patients utilizing rooming standards and setting up exam rooms accordingly
• Interviewing patients, measuring vital signs such as pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and recording information on patients' charts
• Instructing patients regarding preparation for tests and procedures
• Recording laboratory, x-ray, ECG results, and other pertinent medical data in patients' charts
• Handling incoming and outgoing mail, ensuring the doctor sees all necessary information
• Cleaning and stocking exam rooms, including monthly instrument cleaning, sterilization of instruments, and refilling of supplies as necessary
• Handling patient telephone calls as directed by the Triage Nurse
• Screening patient telephone calls to the physician and calling patients to relay advice, information, and instructions from the physician
• Calling in prescriptions and refills to pharmacies under physician direction
• Scheduling special appointments (i.e., referrals, surgeries, x-ray, and lab)
• Assessing and scheduling appointments for patients
• Communicating with callers, patients, physicians, other staff, and anyone they interact with during their assigned work hours in a polite, courteous, understandable manner that projects an interest in providing high-quality customer service

This is a fully on-site position in Appleton, Wisconsin.
Work Environment
4-day work week! Schedule varies depending on the doctor and/or if they are in a float position. Hours are between 8am and 5pm totaling 36-40 hours per week.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $21.00 - $23.00
