Job Description
One of the largest medical practices in New England is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the team at their Primary Care office. This is a large and well-known organization that is rapidly growing. As a member of the patient care team, you will assist providers and nursing staff with daily office duties including but not limited to rooming patients and vital intake, responding to patient messages, prescription refills (calling them in), and assisting at the front desk.
ResponsibilitiesRoom patients and take vital signs including height, weight, blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen levels.Respond to patient messages in a timely and professional manner.Call in prescription refills as directed by providers.Assist at the front desk with appointment scheduling and patient check-ins.Maintain and update electronic health records (EHR) using EMR systems.Collaborate with providers and other medical assistants to ensure efficient patient care.Essential SkillsExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.Knowledge of medical terminology.Ability to obtain and document vital signs accurately.Strong patient care skills.Appointment scheduling experience.Positive mindset and willingness to learn.Good teamwork and collaboration skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications1+ years of experience working in a medical office with both clinical and administrative duties.Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited university.Primary Care experience is preferred but not required.Certification as a Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is a plus.Work Environment
This is a temporary role to cover for an MA on FMLA leave, with the potential for a more permanent position. The schedule is Monday-Friday, 40 hours per week, either 8:00-4:30 or 8:30-5:00 depending on the provider's schedule. The MA will be assigned to one provider in a 1:1 capacity but should be willing to assist other MAs and providers as needed.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $20.00
