UPMC is hiring a Full-Time, Medical Assistant for various levels of experience to support the office in Mechanicsburg/Carlisle.
This is a small busy office that delivers compassionate care to its patients and works closely with providers.
Willing to train the right candidate but prefer someone with medical knowledge.
Hours for this position are Monday-Friday 7:45am-4:15pm
No holidays or weekends!
Mondays and Wednesday you will be working at 11 Sprint Drive, Carlisle, other days will be at 2025 Technology Parkway, Mechanicsburg.
The salary range for this position is between $18.12-$28.39/hour.
Job title and salary will be based on qualifications and career ladder requirements.

This position qualifies for a $1500.00 sign-on bonus with 1-year work commitment!
Responsibilities:
Accompany patients to exam/procedure room. Assist patients as needed with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exam, etc. Collect patient information/history, taking vitals, performing screenings per provider guidelines. Relay instructions to patients/families. Send/receive patient medical records in accordance with Health Insurance. Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations. Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, referral information, etc. Complete forms/requisitions as needed. Prepare and managing charts to ensure information completed and filed appropriately. Schedule appointments. Verify insurance coverage and patient demographics. Prepare patient rooms, set up instruments and equipment according to department protocol. Clean exam/procedure rooms, instruments and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control. Manage inventory of supplies; restocking exam/procedure rooms. Check schedules and organizing patient flow. Answering calls and providing pertinent information including patient education as directed. Perform clinic procedures according to policy and procedure. Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs. Assist physicians with procedures. Comply with requirements of appropriate regulatory agencies (i.e., OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health). Maintain strict confidentiality related to medical records and other data. Under the direction and supervision of a physician, administer injectable medication and vaccines when appropriate. Other front office responsibilities, as required. Performs in accordance with system-wide competencies/behaviors. Performs other duties as assigned.
