Job Description
The Medical Assistant will provide medical services with culturally sensitive care. The role involves interacting with a variety of patients from different socioeconomic levels and ethnic groups. You will provide quality healthcare services to the elderly, families, pregnant women, women’s health care, adolescents, and other groups. You will be responsible for following up on patients' messages, preparing patients for medical visits with exams, education, and lab tests, maintaining patient confidence, and keeping patient care information confidential.

Prepare patients for visits, taking vital signs and confirming the reason for the visit.Perform basic laboratory waive tests.Utilize computer applications, EHR, scheduling, child profile, documentation, and recording information.Assist providers with examinations.Use pulmonary equipment, electrocardiogram, eye tests, and audiometer.Explain procedures and after-visit summary instructions to patients.Keep exam rooms neat and clean and prepare treatment rooms for procedures.Clean and sterilize medical instruments and dispose of contaminated supplies.Perform general office duties, including answering emails, returning phone calls, and completing forms/letters for providers.Communicate with providers, co-workers, and patients with respect and cooperation.Arrive on time for scheduled shifts and prepare to perform daily scheduled assignments.Other duties as assigned related to the position.Essential SkillsCurrent Active Washington State Medical Assistant Certification or Registration.Current BLS/CPR/First Aid certification.Successfully complete a background check.Oral and written comprehension, active listening, and speaking skills.Time management, organizational, and critical thinking skills.Ability to work with a variety of providers in appointed and walk-in care.Professional communication and courteous behavior with co-workers and patients at all times.Keep providers informed of patient location and status.Work as a member of the team and aid co-workers.Complete non-patient tasks during slow times, such as messages, callbacks, and mail outs.Perform clinic tasks as assigned, including inventorying, stocking, and ordering supplies.Experience working with the unique healthcare needs and social issues facing American Indians/Alaska Natives (AI/AN) and the desire to promote the delivery of appropriate health services.Work EnvironmentClinic hours are generally 8AM - 5PM with a 7AM - 6PM shift, Monday through Friday with occasional extra hours for events or to meet deadlines. The Medical Assistant will report directly to the Medical Assistant Supervisor and be a member of the Medical team. The position has no direct reports. The organization utilizes a care team-based model where the Medical Assistant is assigned to a provider, responsible for managing the provider's schedule, anticipating their needs, and directing the flow of the day.

We have multiple clinic locations open around the International District, Pioneer Square, and Lake City areas of Seattle, offering diverse work environments and opportunities to serve various communities.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $24.00 - $27.00
