IMMEDIATE OPENING: Medical Assistant Career Opportunity
ResponsibilitiesThe majority of time will be spent assisting with back office duties, assisting providers by rooming patients, obtaining blood pressure, documenting signs/symptoms, taking weight and temperature as well as completing medical history documentationSet up and assist providers with various tasks, including urinalyses, strep/flu/pregnancy tests, and other tests as directed by the provider or specialty practice.Schedule tests, radiology exams, and appointments with specialists as requested, enter all information pertaining to check-in/check-out in the EMR, and perform prior authorizations as needed.Assist providers with office exams and collect height, weight, BMI, and other pertinent information. Update immunization records.Perform phone triage, including handling patient medical questions, test results, medication refills, and call-backs. Manage faxes/calls/transmits prescription refills as directed.Perform walk-in patient duties as needed, including triage, blood pressures, urinalyses, medication sample requests, and collecting history and other information from patients to be relayed to the provider.Function as a resource to visitors, providers, and staff by greeting everyone promptly and courteously. Communicate clearly and continuously support the Mission and Values of the organization.Perform additional duties as assigned by the Practice Administrator, practice site provider, and/or the VP of Physician Practices.Conduct all activities in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, standards, and policies, including Blood and Body Substance Precautions.Qualifications Required Active CMA (AAMA), RMA, NCMA or CCMA certification required.Successful completion of AND graduation from a recognized medical assistant training course (or equivalent experience required).An upbeat, positive, outgoing attitude and not afraid to \"jump in\" when needed to ensure consistent patient flow and positive interactions from patientsStrong patient first care and experience
Additional Skills & Nice to Haves2-3 years of experience working as a CMA.Experience within family practice or pediatrics, internal medicine, hospital, or primary care.Point of Care (POC) testing experience.Experience with EMR systems.Work EnvironmentWorking at a pediatric clinic in Franklin. The environment is temperature controlled with easy access to parking. The team works with two providers and one other medical assistant, seeing approximately 130 patients daily.The schedule is Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with no weekend work and holidays off.The organization fosters a friendly culture where everyone greets each other, and there are events for staff like food trucks and catered lunches. Opportunities for growth are present, and the CEO was previously a family practice provider, emphasizing patient care.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.22 - $25.00/hr.
