Job Title: Medical Assistant

Job Description

The Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. The role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating the patient population. The medical assistant floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will be working in various offices to support in either the Medical Assistant role or dedicated lab role.

ResponsibilitiesPerform quality team-based patient care under clinician supervision.Support clinicians and care management teams with chronic disease management and patient examinations.Perform laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Communicate effectively and maintain working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Assess emergencies and act accordingly.Float from one location to another as patient queue demands.Essential SkillsKnowledge of laboratory quality control requirements.Knowledge of basic medical terminology.Understanding of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practices.Phlebotomy skills.Ability to communicate and maintain effective working relationships.Ability to assess emergencies and act accordingly.Flexibility to float between locations.Independence, responsibility, and organizational skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh school diploma required.2 years' experience within a clinic/back office healthcare setting.Medical Assistant diploma OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) OR 3 years' Medical Assistant experience.Phlebotomy experience required.Ability to take vitals (manual vitals preferred).Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.Active driver's license required.Experience with TriMed EMR preferred.Work Environment

100% onsite: Monday thru Friday from 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM AND every other Saturday from 8:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Floating to: Sunrise, Plantation, Fort Lauderdale North, Lauderdale Lakes. Permanent opportunity with travel compensation: $0.67/mile when traveling between clinics, and a $20 gas card if floating outside of core locations. Willing to train on manual vitals.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00/yr.
