Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will greet and assist patients and guests in a friendly manner, register arriving patients in the EMR, and provide triage services. You will be responsible for recording patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR), performing a full range of medical assisting skills, and functioning as both front and back office clinical team member depending on daily assignments.
ResponsibilitiesGreet and assist patients and guests in a professional and friendly manner.Register arriving patients in the EMR following existing protocols.Room patients and provide triage services, including vital signs, review of symptoms, and chief complaint in an EMR.Accurately record patient information such as vital signs, review of systems, and chief complaint in an EMR.Perform a full range of medical assisting skills, including collecting urine samples.Function as both front office and back office clinical team member, depending on daily assignment.Perform all assigned duties of the host or clinical daily responsibilities checklist for opening, shift, and closing of the center.Clean and stage exam and procedure suites between patient occupancy.Process cash and credit payments for services.Perform regular and accurate inventory of medical supplies and process orders. Re-stock shelves and suites when supply orders are received.Perform administrative tasks such as composing and responding to emails, answering and making phone calls.Essential Skills2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant.Experience with electronic health records, particularly Epic, is highly preferred.Proficient in appointment scheduling and patient care.Ability to see, hear, and accurately read and write medical terminology.Outstanding bedside manner with both pediatric and adult patients.Positive and energetic attitude that inspires team members.Excellent organizational and record-keeping skills.Effective communication skills, ability to balance multiple tasks, set priorities, and solve problems independently.Ability to work well under high-pressure situations in a fast-track environment.Proficiency with technology, including previous EMR experience and knowledge of Microsoft products such as Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.Typing speed of 45 WPM.Reliable, independent transportation for travel to various locations during any given shift.Additional Skills & QualificationsHigh School Diploma required.Urgent Care / fast track ER experience is a plus but not required.Strong commitment to exceptional patient care and customer service principles.Ability to speak and write English fluently.Work Environment
This position is located at the Waipahu location, with working hours from Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5pm. The physical demands include lifting up to 50 lbs, moving within and outside the building, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, standing, and sitting for long periods. The work environment characteristics are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
