Medical Assistant
Description We are seeking a seasoned and detail-oriented Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. This position requires a highly skilled professional with extensive experience in both clinical and administrative duties. As a key member of our practice, you will play an essential role in providing exceptional care to patients, supporting healthcare providers, and ensuring operational efficiency. Key Responsibilities: + Provide advanced support to physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures. + Accurately collect and document patients' medical histories, vital signs, and lab specimens while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards. + Administer medications and vaccinations as directed, following all protocols. + Perform and assist with complex medical procedures and diagnostic testing, including EKGs, phlebotomy, and wound care. + Maintain a sterile and organized environment to ensure patient safety and infection control. Administrative Duties: + Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems to maintain accurate, detailed patient medical records. + Oversee insurance verification processes, claims, and pre-authorizations to ensure efficiency and compliance. + Act as a liaison between patients and providers by managing follow-up care, fielding patient concerns, and addressing inquiries with professionalism. + Take ownership of scheduling, patient check-in/check-out processes, and managing medical inventories. + Train and mentor junior medical assistants, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. Requirements + High school diploma or GED equivalent. + Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Registered Medical Assistant (RMA), or equivalent certification. + A minimum of 3–5 years of experience as a medical assistant in a fast-paced medical office, clinic, or hospital setting. + Proven expertise in both clinical and administrative workflows, advanced diagnostic tools, and compliance with HIPAA and OSHA regulations.
