Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and compassionate Medical Assistant. You will welcome patients, prep patient charts, handle scheduling, and support patient inquiries about insurance coverage. Additionally, you will assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures, maintain patient records, and support healthcare providers to ensure smooth operations.
ResponsibilitiesLog medications and reconcile with pharmacy for medicationsPut script in EMR and call facilities for STATsWelcome patients and ensure they feel comfortable and informedPrep patient charts ahead of scheduled appointmentsConfirm and print out necessary patient forms ahead of visitsHandle calls for scheduling and rescheduling appointmentsSupport fax machine operations between offices and add files to patient recordsSchedule appointments with patients face-to-face when leaving previous appointmentsVerify patient insurance coverage and collect copaymentsAssist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are completedMaintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracyProcess insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billingProvide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure careWork with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operationsAssist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for proceduresEssential SkillsExperience in medical assistingKnowledge of EMR systems (Medent preferred)Understanding of insurance coveragesAbility to support patient questions about copay, in-network, out-of-network, and referralsAdditional Skills & QualificationsPrevious experience as a Medical AssistantCertification preferred but not required; expired certifications are acceptableInsurance knowledge from previous roles is a plus
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
