Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Certified Medical Assistants to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent customer service skills, assist with rooming patients, and completing Prior Authorizations. This position offers an excellent opportunity for career growth within a friendly and supportive work environment. This position is working within a small clinic with one provider. This role would be a 1:1 ration with the provider.

ResponsibilitiesPerform phone triage, including handling patient medical questions, test results, medication refills, and call-backs. Manage faxes/calls/transmits prescription refills as directed.Performing Prior Authorizations for Gastroenterology medicines prescribed by the provider. Performing back office duties, assisting providers by rooming patients, obtaining blood pressure, documenting signs/symptoms, taking weight and temperature as well as completing medical history documentationPerform walk-in patient duties as needed, including triage, blood pressures, urinalyses, medication sample requests, and collecting history and other information from patients to be relayed to the provider.Room patients and assist with their careSchedule tests, radiology exams, and appointments with specialists as requested, enter all information pertaining to check-in/check-out in the EMR, and Utilize Cerner and other electronic health record systemsProvide patient care in a professional mannerPerform duties as needed to ensure consistent patient flowMaintain a positive and outgoing attitudeAssist providers with office exams and collect height, weight, BMI, and other pertinent information. Update immunization records.

Qualifications RequiredActive CMA (AAMA), RMA, or CCMA certification RequiredSuccessful completion of and graduation from a recognized medical assistant training course or equivalent experienceHigh School Diploma (HSD)Excellent customer service skillsAbility to stand for long periods of timeAdditional Skills & Qualifications2-3 years of experience working as a CMAAssociate's degree in Medical Assisting preferred but not requiredExperience within family practice or pediatricsPoint-of-care (POC) testing experienceExperience with electronic medical record (EMR) systemsWork Environment

This position follows a Monday to Friday day shift schedule from 8 am to 5 pm There is no weekend work, and holidays are off, with minimal overtime required. The work environment is supportive and team-oriented, with providers who are appreciative and great teachers. Free parking is available, and the locations are safe and easily accessible without downtown traffic. Staff events such as food trucks and catered lunches are common, fostering a family-like atmosphere. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.22 - $25.00/hr.
