Schedule: Full Time Day Shift - 3, 12 hour shifts per week with alternating weekends (6am - 6:30pm)

How you’ll serve our patients:

We are looking for a Medical Assistant to assist and improve the health and well-being of those we serve by providing comfort, transportation, monitoring of vital signs, and assisting with daily living needs including hygiene and toileting.

You will serve patients daily in a multitude of ways:

Assist patients with personal hygiene by assisting with bathing, dressing, toileting and associated Activities of Daily Living; vital sign monitoring by checking and recording patients’ temperature, blood pressure, pulse, respiration rate, and weight. Obtains labs and processes them as ordered, including but not limited to urine specific gravity, urinalysis, and standard blood work (CBC, CMP, Renal Panel).

Documentation- Accurately records patient care activity in EMR; recording intake/output information. Administer vaccinations as ordered; Basic wound care.

Patient observation- monitoring patient condition, reporting any changes in behavior or vital signs to nurse: Completes observation rounds, safety checks as ordered by physician and patient meal monitoring as needed.

Assist with ambulation and repositioning in a safe manner to decrease risk of falls. Helping patients to walk, transfer beds and chairs, and use assistive devices.

Works with patients on de-escalation and implementing coping skills per treatment plan.

Act as a secondary support staff in group therapy (may vary by location and program); conducts room and luggage searches; takes patients on fresh air breaks as needed; transport patients to and from outside appointments (may vary by location). Assist the nurses and other staff as needed/directed.

Must haves:

High School or GED Medical Assistant Certification

Valid driver’s license with safe driving record (may vary by location)

BLS

Bonus Qualities:

6 months of direct patient care experience
