Qualifications: EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma/Equivalent CERTIFICATION & LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS Basic Life Support (BLS). Successful completion of medical terminology course within six (6) months of start date in position. SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE Capacity to learn and retain information regarding patient care procedures. Demonstrates compassion and caring in dealing with others. Essential Functions: + Perform a variety of routine direct patient care duties to assist medical and nursing staff in the examination and treatment of patients. + Maintains patient care environment and supplies to ensure patient privacy and safety. + Obtains supplies and equipment required for procedures. + Documents appropriate data in patient chart when care is provided. + Cleans and sends instruments for sterilization. + Rooming patients: Collecting pertinent information regarding the patient's chief complaint, family history, social history, surgical history, and medication reconciliation upon arrival for a patient visit. + Restocks exam and procedure rooms. + Rooming patients age 18-150. + Obtaining VS to include blood pressure, pulse, temperature, pulse ox, height & weight on patients age 18-150. + Medication reconciliation in office to include all medications & over the counter medications that patient is taking.
