Summary
Provides clinical support, such as training, to assist with standardization of procedures and support of day-to-day staff coverage. Acts as a resource for other members of the clinical team. Provides cost-effective patient care under the directions of a LPN, RN, or provider and creates a safe work environment. Performs clerical/administrative duties associated with medical practice front desk operations under the direction of the Practice Leadership. Assists in the development, implementation, evaluation, and enforcement of clinic policies and objectives. Assists management in the investigation and resolution of complaints and problems.
Job DutiesPrepares patients and equipment for exams/procedures, prepares medical history collection and medication refills as per protocol, assists with injections and checking vital signs, as well as handling phones with inbound and outbound patient calls. Covers multiple positions and departments, as well as mentors new and existing staff members on clinical processes and procedures. Assists in supporting the team by participating in the training, scheduling, mentoring, and completion of staff activities. Assists with covering clinical needs by providing direct support to the providers. Processes day end closing and prepares and maintains medical records and other office documentation. Utilizes evaluations, workflows, and quality monitoring; performs chart audits to identify areas for improvement. Mentors and trains team members to optimize performance and skill level. Attends to patients' health needs and gathers demographic and billing information.
Minimum QualificationsSpecialized Diploma Medical Assistant 2 years Medical Assistant Experience Able to manage and organize medical records. Ability to build comprehensive reports and effectively convey information to others. Skill in planning, organizing, and decision-making. Skill in developing and maintaining effective relationships with medical and administrative staff, patients, and the public. Knowledge of Windows operating system and programs including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Word.
