Job Description

The Medical Assistant is essential during patient visits, accompanying the dermatologist in the room and promoting a friendly and efficient environment for patients, staff, and dermatologists.

ResponsibilitiesRooming patients and documenting all vital informationScribing information for the dermatologistCleaning and stocking the exam roomsScheduling patient appointmentsAssisting the dermatologist with procedures such as surgical photographs, biopsies (punch, DIF, and shave), excisions, electrodessication and curettage, I&D, Mohs micrographic skin cancer surgery, phototherapy, injections, Koh preps, trichograms, Tzank preps, dermabrasion, patch testing, and blue light treatmentsEssential SkillsMedical assisting experienceDermatology experienceScribe experience highly preferredCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) preferredMinimum 1 year retentionExperience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)Additional Skills & QualificationsMinimum high-school educationNon-Certified Medical Assistants will need to complete the certification program within the prescribed time period and maintain certification upon expirationWork Environment

The work schedule is Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 7:30am to 5pm, and Wednesday from 6:30am to 3pm. The office environment is great and offers employee discounts. The location is accessible via the Virginia Square or Ballston stops.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $26.00
