The Back Office Medical Assistant Floater will perform quality team-based patient care under the direct supervision of a clinician for both clinical and administrative functions to promote health and wellness in a safe and friendly environment. This role supports clinicians and care management teams in assessing, maintaining chronic disease management, examining, and treating patient populations. The Medical Assistant Floater is responsible for performing all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks. This floating employee will work in various offices to support either the MA role or dedicated lab functions.

ResponsibilitiesPerform quality team-based patient care under the supervision of a clinician.Support clinicians and care management teams in chronic disease management, patient examinations, and treatments.Conduct all laboratory testing procedures and phlebotomy, including venipuncture, finger sticks, and heel sticks.Float between various office locations as needed to support patient queue demands.Maintain effective communication and working relationships with patients, employees, and the public.Assess emergencies and act accordingly.Essential SkillsPhlebotomy skillsKnowledge of laboratory quality control requirementsKnowledge of basic medical terminologyKnowledge of universal precaution procedures in medical safety practicesAbility to communicate and maintain effective working relationshipsAbility to assess emergencies and act accordinglyFlexibility to float from one location to anotherAdditional Skills & QualificationsHS diploma required2 years' experience within clinic/back office healthcare settingMA diploma OR Certified MA (CMA) OR 3 years' MA experiencePhlebotomy experience requiredMUST be able to take vitals (manual vitals preferred)Active BLS requiredActive driver's license requiredFlexible to adjust to changing work environmentBilingual (English-Spanish) preferredExperience with TriMed EMR preferredWork Environment

100% onsite: floats between Monday-Friday 7:45am-5:00pm (and every other Saturday 7:45am-12:00pm).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41288.00 - $51043.00
