Medical Assistant - Cardiology Practice, Silverside

ChristianaCare Cardiology at Silverside is looking for a Medical Assistant.

The Silverside office is located at 3521 Silverside Road, Quillen Building 1C in Wilmington, Delaware.

ChristianaCare Cardiology provides specialized care in virtually all aspects of cardiology. In the practice, the usage of state-of-the-art equipment and the latest procedures available in cardiac medicine. ChristianaCare Cardiology provides sophisticated cardiovascular diagnostic imaging services and provide rehabilitation services to help speed along our patients’ recovery. You will be joining a team of physicians, advanced practice clinicians, medical assistants, and office assistants.


As a medical assistant you will be responsible for assisting physicians in the examination and treatment of patients with virtual and on-site appointments. You will also be responsible to deliver quality patient care and to perform other clinical and clerical duties within the practice.

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday from 7:30am to 5pm (hours could vary, will not exceed 40 hours/week). 

Travel is also required when the need presents.

No weekends or holidays

Responsibilities:

Rooms patients for on-site visits and prepares patients for virtual visits to include taking and recording patient vitals.

Performs point of care testing, injections, medication administration and EKGs as per practice needs.

Assist clinician with examinations/procedures

Prepares exam/treatment rooms with necessary supplies and equipment

Completes necessary patient-specific paperwork as per practice needs

Ensures EMR is up-to-date with all pertinent test results in preparation for next visit

Schedules tests, procedures and surgeries as per practice needs.

Performs quality control on all POCT (point of care testing) equipment.

Provides documentation assistance for providers during examinations and procedures.

Education Requirements:

High School Graduate or GED required.

A graduate of a recognized Medical Assistant Program or hold current Medical Assistant Certification by a national organization accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA) or the American National Standards Institute (ANSI).
