The CCMA Apprenticeship Program is a 12-month program that will provide you with all the skills to be a successful Medical Assistant at Grace Health. No experience needed! The next 12 weeks will be spent training with a preceptor on the clinical floor. After successful completion of the CareerStep curriculum and clinical floor training, you will take the CCMA exam to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant. The last 6 months of the program consists of mentorship – you will be paired with a mentor within your assigned work area. The CCMA Apprenticeship is a competitive and intensive program where expectations are high and there are times that outside studying will be expected. EXAMPLES OF MEDICAL ASSISTANT DUTIES: (This list is not all inclusive) + Obtains accurate patient data + Documents in the medical record + Prepares exam room and procedure rooms + Assists provider during exams and procedure + Administers medications, per written order + Provides educational materials to patient/family + Provides explanation of lab results, diagnostic testing results and provider orders to patient/family + Assists with cleaning and stocking of exam rooms and suites + Performs CLIA waived testing + General office duties, as assigned + Although each position has its own unique duties and responsibilities, please refer to the policy on Job Descriptions for details that apply to every position.
