Departmental Overview NRHS is seeking a Medical Assistant to join the float pool. New Float Pool Healers will be trained in both clinical and clerical duties, and be capable of functioning as a Clerk at the Check In/Out area of the clinic as well as helping in a clinical role as well. The specialty clinic float pool team supports all of the NRHS Clinic Network which. As a float pool healer, you will step into a clinic as needed and ensure that patients are roomed, vitals are taken, charts are completed, and that all patients have an excellent experience in NRHS specialty clinics. This position represents a great opportunity to learn how providers in many different clinics care for their specific patient population. Job Summary Screens patient and obtains pertinent information. Assists physician or advanced practitioner during patient visit in accordance with age specific needs. Assists the physician or advanced practitioner in all aspects of patient care and communication as instructed. Maintains the exam rooms and work environment. Provides support to the clinic as needed. Qualifications Education High school diploma or equivalent and completion of an accredited program in Medical Assistant Training or equivalent experience required. Experience Prefer at least one year experience in a clinical or physician-office setting, emergency room and/or a hospital setting that provides patient care. Experience in office clerical activities desirable. (Above requirements can be met by equivalent combination of education and experience). Licensure/Certification Basic Life Support (BLS) training or re-training is required during orientation prior to providing patient care. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) is required to be maintained for duration of employment. CMA or RMA preferred. Compensation $13.74-$22.44/hr depending on previous work experience.
