Description:Under direct supervision of the physician, assists in patient care as delegated by the physician. Performs clerical duties, phlebotomy, simple laboratory functions, and assists in direct patient care.

What you will Do:

Obtains vital signs, blood pressures, heights and weights, and records information appropriately, accurately and in a timely manner.Demonstrates the ability to identify physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs of the patient and appropriately reports to the provider/RN. Administers medications, vaccines and treatments/procedures as directed by the provider, and as appropriate for the patients’ medical care.Demonstrates competency in performing phlebotomy, use of appropriate tubes for blood specimen collection, labeling, accurate identification, etc. Demonstrates competency in performing point of care testing and documentation of results accurately. Processes simple laboratory specimens. Maintains CLIA/COLA evaluation and documentation of competency (as necessary)Assists with patient treatments as delegated, i.e., specimen collection, simple dressing changes. Performs screen and follow up of patient test results.Assists with patient exam as directed by the provider/physician. Obtains EKG tracing as directed and ordered by provider/physician.

Minimum Qualifications:

Must have successfully completed/graduated from a CAAHEP or ABHES accredited Medical Assisting training program.Requires a current certification/registration (CMA/RMA) by an NCCA certified. Maintains certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support. Able to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change.
