of safety at every level within the organizationThe Medical Assistant will provide basic clinical and clerical support in the delivery of patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education The Medical Assistant experiences continued training of all aspects of the Medical Assistant roleClinical Duties Provides direct patient care within the scope of practice of a Medical Assistant including but not limited to vitals outside medication reconciliation outside allergy reconciliation screenings patient history and virtual health Conducts point of care testing including quality control and documentation Assists providers with in house procedures as needed including but not limited to pumpsmeters bladder scan sterile technique suturesstaples and gyn exams Obtains blood samples by venipuncture with competency Accurately performs tests such as basic urine chemistry using chemical strips guaiac pH blood glucose UPT and hemoculture Under direction of providers and nurses provides other treatments and care to patients appropriate to training as assignedPrepares and assists patients undergoing treatments examinations and proceduresAdministrative Duties Provides administrative support including but not limited to scheduling chart prep referrals check inout prior authorizations and transportation facilitation Accurately documents and communicates interventions and measurements and communicates appropriately to health care provider Covers the front desk based on business needs Assists in the maintenance of equipment supplies and a clean and safe work environment Checks equipment and supplies for expiration dates electrical safety tags intactness and usability Cleans equipment and stores it in its proper place Reports equipment and supplies needing equivalent educationGED or Technical School may be consideredAmerican Heart Association BLS CPR certificationDiploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or an active CT CNA EMT Paramedic
