A Little More About What You Will be Doing

As a member of the patient care team, the Medical Assistant is responsible for positive patient relations, proper telephone communication, verification of patient information by interviewing patient and confirming purpose of visit. The POTs program has grown astronomically over the past over the past 3 years under Dr. Chen’s efforts as a specialist.  His knowledge and expertise has led to Cedars become a renowned center for the treatment and management of POTS.

Greets patients, take appropriate vital signs, review current medications and record in medical recordAssists with tracking and monitoring department specific dataProvide clinical support, and ensuring the research trials compliance within research protocolsAid in the effective management of patient flow, data collection, and general support required for the successful execution of the multiple research trials within the POTs programExplains policies, procedures, or services to patients using clinical or administrative knowledge, based on scope of practiceMay support practitioner both in clinic and virtual visitsSets up exam room/procedure rooms appropriately based on patient visit needsManages patient care flow and assist with monitoring CS-Link message pools and standard workCleans/re-processes equipment and supplies based on standard work and department guidelines

Qualifications

Education:

High school diploma or GED requiredGraduation from accredited Medical Assisting from an accredited educational program and/or Medical Assistant Certification from Board approved Medical Assistant Organization required

Experience:

1 years of experience working as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical/medical office setting requiredMedical Scribe experience highly preferredClinical Research experience highly preferred

Licenses/Certification:

Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association or American Red Cross required
