Job Title: Medical Assistant (ENT)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and organized Medical Assistant with experience in ENT and allergy specialties. This role involves managing the flow of the clinic, patient teaching, and supporting various clinical and administrative tasks.

ResponsibilitiesControl the flow of the clinic.Provide patient teaching and education.Send in prescriptions as required.Place referrals during visits and task office nurses with referrals.Place lab orders and provide them to patients at check-out, logging the orders for tracking.Place or notate radiology orders that need scheduling and log them for tracking.Coordinate surgery scheduling with the scheduler, print lab orders, explain surgery packets to patients, and provide instructions.Send tasks to office nurses for items that cannot be completed in the clinic.Perform scanning tasks as needed.Set up and assist with minor in-office procedures.Process instruments used in procedures.Provide the office nurse with an end-of-day log summary, including new surgery patients/dates, referrals, paperwork packets, and other follow-up items.Essential SkillsCertified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).6 months to 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant and surgery scheduler.Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.Medical Assistant Diploma.Back office experience.Strong clerical and organizational skills.Experience with insurance knowledge.Additional Skills & QualificationsWillingness to travel to Virginia Beach locations as needed.Experience in ENT/Allergy is a plus.Experience in triage and taking vitals is a plus.Work Environment

The work hours are 8:00am - 5:00pm or until the last patient is seen, Monday to Friday, with weekends off. The practice includes various physicians specializing in different areas of ENT, providing an educational environment with opportunities for growth and experience in diverse situations within this specialty.
