Medical Assistant - Family Practice - Liberty Station

This is a benefited, full time position generally working Monday-Friday from 8:30am-5:30pm. Shift times may vary as needed. Located at Scripps Clinic Liberty Station. This is a dual role working both front and back office duties (i.e. clinical and clerical tasks).

What you'll do:

This is a dual role with both clinical and administrative aspectsRooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with proceduresClinic prep assisting with Provider specific protocolsMaintains a clean, organized, and safe environmentOrganizes and performs patient care services that support the physician’s practiceRelaying instructions from the physician to the patient or authorized personCollecting patient data in person and by phoneDocumenting patient concerns, messages and care provided in the electronic medical record for the physician's reviewAdministering medications specifically directed by the physicianScheduling of appointments and proceduresComplete and accurate message takingRouting messages to the appropriate area for directionOrder and referral entry, acquisition of pre-certificationsSetting up of cases in EPIC plus basic registration and updating of demographics

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanBLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:

1 year of experience working as Medical AssistantPrimary care experience

Required Qualifications:

Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsmanBLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Preferred Qualifications:
