Medical Assistant - Float Pool

This is a combined posting for Associate Medical Assistant, Medical Assistant and Senior Medical Assistant. The requirements of each role are listed below under each associated title. The Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing basic patient care to assigned patients. Basic patient care needs will be met though both administrative and clinical duties. An Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

The Medical Assistant (MA II) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Medical Assistant (MA II) performs all aspects of the Associate Medical Assistant (MA I) role and is fully competent in the clinical needs/functions for assigned clinic/location of work. A Medical Assistant (MA II) is expected to perform in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulations.

The Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) works under the delegation of a licensed practitioner to perform duties as directed to assist in providing patient care to assigned patients. A Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) is capable of performing all aspects of the MA I and MA II roles. Additionally, the Senior Medical Assistant (MA III) proactively takes initiative and serves as an informal leader with additional responsibilities related to clinic/location. MA III serves as an ambassador, change agent, quality champion, and mentor/resource to Medical Assistants by providing support, guidance, and training as needed.

Associate Medical Assistant
Required Qualifications:

National Provider BLS - American Heart Association upon hire. Medical assisting experience in a clinic setting (0-6 months).

Preferred Qualifications:

Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with an externship (Applied learning). Or Coursework/Training: Has completed medical training in the United States Armed Forces. Or Coursework/Training: Has worked as a Medical Assistant in a clinic environment for at least six months. 6 months of prior experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment. 6 months of previous experience in a healthcare setting working with an Electronic Health record (EHR).

Associate Medical Assistant, Salary Range:
Mission Viejo, CA - Min: $19.61, Max: $30.54

Medical Assistant
Required Qualifications:

Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association  6 months of Healthcare experience 6 months of Medical Assistant experience

Preferred Qualification:

Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with an externship (Applied learning). Or Coursework/Training: Has completed medical training in the United States Armed Forces. Or Coursework/Training: Has worked as a Medical Assistant in a clinic environment for at least six months. Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification

Medical Assistant, Salary Range:
Mission Viejo, CA - Min: $21.24, Max: $33.07

Senior Medical Assistant
Required Qualifications:

Upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association 2 years of medical assisting experience in a clinic setting. 2 years of experience providing a high level of customer service in a fast-paced environment, including handling confidential data with discretion. 6 months of working experience in a PSJH clinic within the last 3 years.

Preferred Qualifications:

Coursework/Training: Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program with an externship (Applied learning). Or Coursework/Training: Has completed medical training in the United States Armed Forces. Or Coursework/Training: Has worked as a Medical Assistant in a clinic environment for at least six months. Upon hire: National Medical Assistant Certification

Senior Medical Assistant, Salary Range:
Mission Viejo, CA - Min: $22.26, Max: $35.41
