Medical Assistant - Foot and Ankle of NWPA

Apply today to join a great team and receive a robust Totals Reward package!!** **Responsibilities:** + Check schedules and organize patient flow, accompanying patients to exam and procedure rooms while assisting with walking, transfers, and dressing. + Collect patient information and history, taking vitals and performing screenings per provider guidelines, while relaying instructions to patients and families. + Send and receive patient medical records in compliance with HIPAA and other regulations, ensuring confidentiality and security of data. + Prepare patient rooms and set up instruments and equipment according to department protocols, maintaining infection control through cleaning between visits. + Manage inventory of supplies, restocking exam and procedure rooms, and keeping records of cleaning schedules and maintenance. + Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, and level one labs; assist physicians with procedures and document patient information accurately in medical records. + Answer calls, provide pertinent information, and educate patients as directed, while verifying insurance coverage and scheduling appointments. + Under physician supervision, administer injectable medications and vaccines, ensuring compliance with regulatory agency requirements and UPMC policies. **Required:** + High school diploma or equivalent + Must have basic computer skills and knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities **Preferred:** + Medical Assistant experience + Wound care/post op care experience **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
