Job Description
Responsible for the patient check-in process, updating computer patient personal information and insurance information, handling a multi-line phone system, medical records filing and maintenance, and collection of co-pays and cash payments.
ResponsibilitiesPerforms opening and closing clinic dutiesGreets patients, checks in for appointments and verifies insuranceScans documents into electronic health recordMaintains tidiness of waiting area and reception counter throughout the dayChecks schedules for added, canceled and no-show appointments throughout the daySchedules follow-up appointments as neededResponds to designated tasks in the electronic health recordOrders clinic office suppliesSells and tracks cosmetic productsDistributes mailPrepares for next day scheduled appointmentsEssential Skills1 year of experience in a medical setting requiredProficient in medical assisting, data entry, and front desk operationsKnowledge in insurance verificationExperience with fast-paced environments with 3+ physiciansPatient care skillsProficient in basic computer functionsAbility to learn new software quicklyExcellent customer service, communication, and organizational skillsAbility to operate standard office equipmentAttention to detailAbility to multi-task, prioritize appropriately, and work well both individually and as part of a teamAbility to respond positively to constructive feedback and direction from supervisorsProfessional appearance and mannerFriendly, cheerful, tactful, and polite demeanorCompassionate and caring in dealing with othersAbility to maintain confidentiality of informationAdditional Skills & Qualifications1-2 years of recent medical office experience or in a similar capacity is preferredExperience with EMA and NextGen EMR systems is a plusAbility to type a minimum of 40 wpm is preferredCandidates are expected to be trained in front and back officeAbility to step in and help with vitals and other technical dutiesWork Environment
Hours are Monday-Friday from 6:30 AM to 3:30 PM. Free parking available. Great hours and internal benefits for those who enjoy skin care.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $21.00
