Job Title: Medical Assistant - Receptionist/Front Office

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Assistant for our front office. The ideal candidate will use Medent as the electronic medical records (EMR) system, welcome patients, manage appointment schedules, handle calls, verify insurance, assist with patient check-ins and check-outs, and maintain accurate patient records. The role also involves processing insurance claims, taking vital signs, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring efficient office operations.

ResponsibilitiesUtilize Medent EMR for patient records.Welcome patients and ensure they feel comfortable and informed.Manage the appointment calendar and coordinate with medical staff availability.Handle incoming calls, direct them to appropriate personnel, and address patient inquiries.Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments.Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures, ensuring all necessary forms are completed.Maintain and update patient records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing.Assist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures.Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories and records.Provide patients with information on treatments, medications, and post-procedure care.Order and manage medical supplies and equipment.Work with healthcare providers to ensure smooth patient flow and efficient office operations.Data entry of basic demographics and insurance information.Collect applicable co-payment/account balances at the time of service.Confirm eligibility of various patient’s insurance plans.Obtain referrals as needed.Essential SkillsExperience with EMR systems, particularly Medent.Previous medical assistant experience.High volume patient care experience.Front office knowledge and computer proficiency.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification as a Medical Assistant (preferred but not required).Experience with patient examinations and vital signs.Strong communication and organizational skills.Work EnvironmentThe position is based primarily in Hackettstown, with initial training in other offices (Sparta, NJ).The standard shift is Monday to Friday, 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM. After six months, the role includes one evening shift until 8:00 PM with a shorter shift on another day. Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00
