Summary:
An essential role in the delivery of residential treatment services. Direct care position with a primary responsibility of interacting with and supervising clients in treatment.
Shift:
7:00pm - 7:00am, rotating weekends, varying days
Pay:
$15/hr before shift differentials
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Completes client observations during the MAT hours of operation. Maintains therapeutic relationships with all clients and effectively communicates changes in client status or milieu to appropriate member of the treatment team. Obtains vital signs, capillary blood sugars and urine specimens as directed. Reports any significant changes in medical condition; vital signs, blood sugar results, etc. to leadership. When necessary, encourages clients to actively engage in treatment and to routinely care for their ADL’s and to maintain an orderly, clean physical environment. Conduct all functions of the toxicology screening process including entering data into the lab system, collecting observed urine specimens, preparing specimens for transport to the lab, printing and reviewing. toxicology reports, communicating results to the assigned treatment team. Observe and document the process of the dispensing of medication by the pharmacy vendor technician. Verifying that all documentation for admission is obtained from the assessment team is available on the admission day, including records from inpatient or other providers. Maintain unit supply inventory by checking stock, anticipate needed supplies, placing orders with the Administrative Assistant, verifying receipts of all orders. Assist in answering client medical concerns and escalate accordingly. Conduct follow-up calls for clients who have missed appointments for their medication assisted treatment. Collect and log client payments. Discuss and distribute client educational materials. Complete required trainings and mandatory training hours. Other duties as assigned.Requirements
Education, Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent, required. Experience in a drug and alcohol and/or residential setting, preferred. Active certification as a Certified Medical Assistant by the American Association of Medical Assistants in lieu of high school diploma/GED. Experience as a Medical Assistant by employment or successful internship, preferred. Current CPR, AED and First Aid, preferred.Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb stairs, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, twist, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 25 pounds. The employee must seldom carry up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
