Located at 195 Worcester Street Wellesley, MA, our Internal Medicine/Adult Primary Care practice delivers a full range of preventive and health maintenance care. We not only treat a range of acute and chronic health problems, but we also coordinate our patients’ care when they need treatment by specialists.


 

Job Summary

Our Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Dedicated to clinical support, the Medical Assistant ensures a smooth patient flow within the practice and assists in the examination and treatment of patients under the direction of physician or advanced practitioner. Our Medical Assistants work 1:1 with providers as well as partnering with one of our Practice Coordinator team members as our support model.

We are seeking a full-time, 40-hour Lead Medical Assistant to support the practice on-site Monday through Friday (8:00am- 5:30pm) shifts are staggered accordingly.

Our Lead Medical Assistants play an integral part in the operations of our community-based physician practices. Our lead Medical Assistant will be dedicated to clinical support as well as being the primary point of contact for our 5 other medical assistants.

Responsibilities:
• Communicates any change in staffing to both the Practice Manager and Administrative assistant
• Reviews MA responsibilities and performance with the Practice Manager.
• Orders office and medical supplies in Peoplesoft.
• Maintains inventory of immunizations and checks expiration date.
• Obtains prior authorizations for tests/medications/provision of care, as needed.
• Provides assistance to providers with office procedures.
• Coordinates pre-visit preparations including addressing the special needs of patients (i.e. comfort measures, communication, and other appropriate issues), ensuring relevant labs and tests are scheduled and completed prior to office visit, organization of paper chart, etc.
• Escorts patients to the exam rooms and take vital signs.
• Performs a variety of patient care procedures within the Medical Assistant (MA) scope of practice, including but not limited to: injections and EKG’s.


 

Qualifications

Education

High School Diploma or Equivalent required

Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No

Licenses and Credentials

Basic Life Support [BLS] Certificate preferred
Certified Medical Assistant preferred

Experience

Experience as a medical assistant, with demonstrated proficiency in clinical and administrative tasks. 2-3 years required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Strong leadership and team management skills.
Comprehensive knowledge of medical terminology, procedures, and protocols.
Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical office software.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
Attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and adapt in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Knowledge of HIPAA and other privacy and security regulations.
