As Medical Assistant, you will support daily activities within the Ob/Gyn Unit. You will assist caregivers, nurses and the physician with multiple tasks, from medication administration to equipment management. This department can get busy, so the ideal candidate will be compassionate and capable of multi-tasking to meet patient needs. You may periodically float to the Stuart office, offering an additional way to grow and use your skills. Numerous professional development opportunities are also available, including committee involvement and My Learning courses.
A caregiver in this position works from 8:00AM – 5:00PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist with performing screening and treatments by gathering information related to health maintenance, collecting specimens and documenting patient care. Update health maintenance at patient visits, accurately identify medication changes and update allergy information at each visit. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administer specific medications under direction of provider. Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintain examination areas. Assist in pre-visit planning by updating the health maintenance tab. Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Must be a graduate from an approved Medical Assisting Program (As designated by the Enterprise MA Steering Committee) Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered Current demonstrated clinical proficiency Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) required within new hire periodPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
