Our client, one of the Largest multinational Company in the US is looking for a Medical Assistant-Occupational 2 in Stanford CA 94305 United States location. **Job title: Medical Assistant-Occupational 2** **Location: Stanford CA 94305** **100% onsite. 8AM-4:30PM** **Job Description** Certification Required • Medical Assistant certification from an accredited program/school. • Phlebotomy certification • Spirometry certification • Audiometry certification Core Duties: • Room patient and obtain vital signs • Obtain surveillance questionnaires and consent forms. • Assist the provider with patient examinations. Accurately interpret instructions and communicate clinical information to patients related to provider’s orders. • Use of an electronic medical record system for appointment scheduling, check in, and scheduling follow up appointments. • Draw blood; perform patient injections (vaccinations) as directed by provider; administer clinical screening tests, e.g. hearing tests, visual test screening, pulmonary function tests, urine collection • Schedule and follow up on patient appointments; accurately provide information within defined limits and answer basic questions. • Prepare blood for laboratory tests; ensure samples are ready for delivery with all appropriate documentation. • Update and chart electronic patients and office databases. • Respond to first level inquiries from patients, HR, university departments, and outside of the university. • Follow up with vendors, pharmacist, labs, and referral doctors. Purchase office and clinic supplies as directed. Check and perform quality control prior to any use of equipment. • Provide back up to front desk reception staff in answering telephones, retrieving voicemail messages, and checking the clinic’s email box for follow up. Requirements: Bilingual English Spanish at a conversational level, plus basic medical information, including patient’s chief complaints, history of present illness, past medical history including allergies, medications, chronic medical conditions, and post-visit instructions. Demonstrated ability to work well with Stanford colleagues and clients and with external organizations. • Demonstrated commitment to personal responsibility and value for safety, shown through communication of safety concerns and the use and promotion of safe behaviors based on training and lessons learned. • Demonstrated understanding of universal precautions used during exposure to blood, bodily fluid, or tissues. • Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and sensitive information (written and verbal) with tact and diplomacy. • Ability to communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Bilingual preferred. • Ability to apply HIPAA training in all work interactions (verbal and written). • Basic understanding of medical terminology. • Ability to distinguish basic colors, e.g. red, blue, green, yellow, and buff. • Ability to follow standard operating procedures to prioritize tasks, as well as troubleshoot unplanned situations and complete duties with limited supervision. Physical Requirements • Frequent, regular and recurring physical exertion, including standing, walking, twist/bend/stoop/squat/stretching, lift and carry moderately heavy boxes (15-25 pounds) of supplies or equipment. Occasionally sitting, reach/work above shoulders, grasp lightly/fine manipulation, perform desk-based computer tasks, use a telephone, writing by hand, lift/carry/push/pull objects that weigh up to 10 pounds. Rarely sort/file paperwork or parts. Work Conditions • Tasks involve exposure to blood, body fluid, or tissues, creating a potential risk of exposure to contagious diseases, infections, and accidental needle sticks. Employees will practice universal precautions. May be required to enter areas where other individuals work with human blood; potential may exist for unanticipated exposure to blood borne pathogens by splash or spill.
