Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join our high-volume neurology and orthopedic office. This role involves supporting back-office functions, patient intakes, vital checks, medication reconciliation, and preparing charts and patient rooms. You will also assist with orthopedic injections, complete prior authorizations, review MRI reports, and manage inventory. Additionally, you will handle phone triage for physician and patient inquiries, update patient records, and maintain the electronic medical record system (Athena). Cross-training opportunities in spine, pain management, and orthopedics are available.

The work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm, with potential to stay until the last patient leaves, often around 5:30 pm or later. Office hours start at 8:00 am, but some procedures or patient preparations may begin as early as 7:30 am. The weekly schedule will be provided in advance, with some days starting at 7:30 am and others at 8:00 am. Longer days are rotated fairly among staff. Weekend hours are available on a volunteer basis. The role involves walking 3-5 miles each day to room patients and prepare rooms. The office typically has 4-5 doctors with 40-130 patients daily. Flexibility to float between locations is required, with the primary location being Glen Ridge. A good bedside manner and efficient time management are essential to handle the high patient volume.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $24.00/hr.
