MEDICAL ASSISTANT - P/T
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1.             Maintains an efficient medical office by assisting the medical staff with typical office duties such as filing, answering the phone, and assisting with maintaining the Medical Clinic in a clean and orderly fashion. 2.             Ensures a constant flow of students being seen by the site practitioners and that no more than three students are in the waiting room at any given time. 3.             In conjunction with the group living staff assigned to verify roll call, the Medical Assistant monitors and supervises students waiting to be seen by the medical practitioners. 4.             Shuttles students from program activities to the Medical Clinic and returns the students to group living. 5.             Files medical documentation in student medical charts. 6.             Under the direction of the Medical Manager or Medical Coordinator, documents medical supply orders. 7.             Ensures the safety, health and welfare of staff and students at all times. 8.             Provides encouragement, guidance and resources to staff and students when needed. 9.             Models and ensures all program norms are upheld without compromise. 10.          Acts as a positive role model and mentor for both staff and students. 11.          Treats others with respect, confronts negative behavior and supports confrontations. 12.          Completes required reports and documentation in a timely manner, provides management with required reports and advises of any problematic situations. 13.          Complies with and implements the Rite of Passage Policies and Procedures as detailed in the appropriate manuals/handbooks. 14.          Ensures the highest standards are maintained to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct and to ensure the program remains in compliance with agency licensing and Rite of Passage policies and procedures. 15.          Assists with the correction of deficiencies and quality improvement efforts. 16.          Attends and participates in all required meetings. 17.          Commits to attending all training and staff development classes in order to ensure sufficient hours of training on an annual basis.  Notifies supervisor if annual training hours are deficient. 18.          Other duties as assigned, verbally or in written form to meet the needs of the program.     MARGINAL FUNCTIONS: 1.             Assists with entering student information into the database, if applicable. 2.             Conducts student medical appointment transports when necessary. 3.             Conducts student medication administration when necessary. 4.             Participates in Site, Region and/or Company events as required.     MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 1.             High School diploma or equivalent. 2.             Certification for Medical Assistant or Nurses Assistant required. 3.             Successfully completed QMAP training. 4.             Must meet the requirements to be an eligible ROP driver.  Must possess a current State Driver’s License and have an acceptable driving record for the past three (3) years. 5.             Ability to pass a criminal background clearance check, drug screen, physical and TB test. 6.             Ability to utilize resources available to complete assigned projects. 7.             Ability to prepare written reports and correspondence. 8.             Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions. 9.             Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing. 10.          Able to work at least 40 hours per week with the possibility of a varied schedule. 11.          Must be able to maintain a high level of confidentiality. 12.          Must have excellent organization and time management skills. 13.          Ability to build and maintain positive internal and external relationships. 14.          Ability to provide exemplary customer service to all employees and outside constituents. 15.          Ability to function independently and as a member of a team in a multi-task environment. 16.          Must be flexible and able to handle multiple priorities, with the ability to adjust to high pressure and rapidly changing business conditions. 17.          Proficient in the use of computers and associated software.
