1. Administrative Tasks:
- Place patients into the exam rooms
- Manage patient records
- Maintain office supplies and equipment
- Occasionally answer phone calls
2. Clinical Tasks:
- Take vital signs (temperature, blood pressure, pulse, etc.)
- Prepare patients for exams and procedures
- Assist with routine medical procedures (e.g., injections, blood draws)
- Collect and process lab samples
3. Patient Care:
- Provide basic care and comfort to patients
- Educate patients on medical procedures and instructions
- Assist with medication administration
4. Phlebotomy Tasks
- Collect and store blood samples from patients
- Distribute samples to designated departments
- Monitor storage and inventory of supplies
- Maintain a clean and healthy work environment
- Adhere to laboratory safety policies and procedures
- Assist in the recovery of patients with adverse reactions
5. Other Tasks:
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow infection control protocols
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
1. Education: Post-secondary certificate or diploma in medical assisting (CMA or RMA certification preferred)
2. Skills:
- Fluent in Russian and English languages
- Communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build rapport with patients
- Organizational and time management skills
- Basic medical knowledge and terminology
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer needs
- Previous experience in phlebotomy / medical field is preferred
3. Certification: Certification from a recognized organization (e.g., American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT))
