Medical Assistant - Referral Specialist
Job Title: Medical Assistant/Referral (Insurance) Specialist Job Description The Referral Specialist works closely with our primary care medical and nursing staff to ensure that orders for consultations with specialists and diagnostic tests are processed and scheduled in a timely and efficient manner. This position requires excellent communication skills and the ability to complete multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities + Coordinate and schedule consultations with specialists and diagnostic tests. + Communicate effectively with primary care medical and nursing staff. + Verify insurance information and ensure proper billing processes. + Manage and input data into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems, including Epic. + Handle account management and data entry related to medical and insurance information. Essential Skills + Proficiency in healthcare and insurance verification. + Experience with EMR systems, particularly Epic. + Strong communication skills. + Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications + 1+ years of experience in healthcare, specifically working with insurance matters. + Familiarity with billing systems and account management. Work Environment The work hours are Monday through Friday 8am-4:30pm or 8:30am-5pm. The dress code is business casual.
