A Medical Assistant in this role is familiar with performing health screenings, collecting specimens, administering medication and reporting patient conditions. In this role, you will play an important role in the overall organization and functioning of the Urology unit. You will also perform numerous administrative activities, helping ensure your fellow caregivers, supervisors and physicians have the information and resources they need to continue offering the best possible care. These duties offer a unique opportunity to expand your management and other professional skills.
A caregiver in this position works from 7:30AM - 4:00PM and 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Assist with performing screening and treatments by gathering information related to health maintenance, collecting specimens and documenting patient care. Update health maintenance at patient visits, accurately identify medication changes and update allergy information at each visit. Monitor and communicate changes in patient condition. Administer specific medications under direction of provider. Maintain equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting. Maintain examination areas. Assist in pre-visit planning by updating the health maintenance tab. Perform administrative or clerical duties as assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry and patient registration.Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting Program Military training as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) considered Current demonstrated clinical proficiency Completion of a clinical externship OR extensive clinical experience Successful completion of Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) within new hire periodPreferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
