Job Summary

Summary

Responsible for the delivery of urology services by preparing equipment, assisting in patient preparation, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.

Essential Function
-Assist urologists and healthcare teams in providing direct patient care during urology procedures.

-Prepare patients for procedures, which may include positioning, draping, and providing emotional support.

-Set up and prepare urology equipment and instruments required for procedures.

-Ensure that all equipment is clean, sterilized, and in proper working condition.

-Perform routine maintenance and calibration checks on equipment as required.

-Adhere to strict sterile techniques and infection control protocols during urology procedures.

-Maintain a clean and organized work environment, including sterilizing instruments, preparing sterile trays, and ensuring proper disposal of contaminated items.

-Follow established infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infections.


 

Qualifications

Education
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Medical Assistant Certificate Preferred 1 plus years of MA experience Preferred

Licenses and Credentials

Experience
Urology Experience 0-1 year preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of urology procedures, instruments, and equipment commonly used in urology practices.
- Understanding of sterile techniques, infection control practices, and patient safety protocols.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to maintain accurate records and handle multiple tasks effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with patients, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Ability to remain calm and composed in stressful situations and demonstrate empathy towards patients.
