**Responsibilities:**
+ Patient Care and Clinical Duties:
+ Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, level one labs, and clinic procedures.
+ Assist physicians with procedures and administer injectable medications/vaccines under supervision.
+ Collect patient information, take vitals, and perform screenings per provider guidelines.
+ Accompany and assist patients with transfers, dressing, and specimen collection.
+ Documentation and Record Management:
+ Document patient information in medical records.
+ Obtain lab/x-ray reports, hospital notes, and referrals.
+ Prepare and manage charts, forms, and requisitions to ensure accuracy and compliance.
+ Send/receive medical records following HIPAA and regulatory guidelines.
+ Patient Interaction and Education:
+ Answer calls and provide patient education as directed.
+ Relay instructions to patients and families.
+ Facility and Equipment Maintenance:
+ Prepare and clean exam rooms, instruments, and equipment to maintain infection control.
+ Manage inventory and restock supplies.
+ Perform scheduled maintenance and maintain appropriate records.
+ Administrative Responsibilities:
+ Schedule appointments and verify insurance coverage and patient demographics.
+ Organize patient flow and check schedules.
+ Fulfill front office duties as needed.
+ Regulatory Compliance:
+ Adhere to OSHA, CLIA, PA Department of Health, and UPMC Health System policies.
+ Maintain confidentiality of medical records and data
+ High school diploma required.
+ Must have basic computer skills
+ Prior Healthcare experience required
+ Prior medical assistant experience preferred.
+ Knowledge of medical terminology, examination, diagnostic and treatment room responsibilities. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:** CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hireCPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
