Key Responsibilities: 1. Clinical Support: - Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and treatments by taking vital signs, documenting medical histories, and updating electronic medical records (EMR). - Assist healthcare providers during gynecological exams, prenatal care visits, ultrasounds, and minor in-office procedures. - Collect and process lab specimens, including blood draws, urine samples, and cultures. - Administer medications, injections, and vaccines as directed by providers. 2. Patient Education & Advocacy: - Provide patients with educational materials on reproductive health, prenatal care, postpartum care, and other OB/GYN topics. - Offer support to patients by answering questions, explaining procedures, and addressing concerns. 3. Administrative Duties: - Schedule patient appointments, follow-ups, and referrals. - Manage phone calls, including patient inquiries and provider communication. - Ensure accurate documentation and maintenance of patient charts in compliance with HIPAA regulations. 4. Facility & Equipment Maintenance: - Sterilize instruments and clean examination rooms between patients. - Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability and proper function. 5. Compliance & Professional Development:- Adhere to clinical protocols, infection control policies, and OSHA regulations. - Stay updated on advancements in OB/GYN care and medical assistant best practices.
