Medical Biller / Coder
Description We are looking to hire several Medical Biller/Coders! 

 

This role is crucial in the healthcare delivery system, focusing on billing and collections. Responsibilities include conducting clinical charges, payments, adjustments, billing, and submitting claims to insurances/programs. The position requires excellent customer service, computer skills, attention to detail, multitasking, and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with the healthcare team to maintain a patient-centered medical home is essential.

 Schedule: This assignment will be for up to 6 months; M-F ; 1st shift hours

Pay: $18/hr. Paid Every Friday! 

 

Responsibilities:

Communication: Interact with providers, insurance representatives, and patients to resolve billing issues. Billing Functions: Review and analyze medical records, ensure accurate coding, enter charges, verify insurances, and perform root cause analysis. Collections Functions: Submit claims, reconcile batches, resolve rejections/denials, work on appeals, and post insurance payments. Team Communication: Collaborate with physicians and departments to resolve issues and educate staff on insurance policies. Documentation Management: Ensure accurate and current billing documentation, adjustments, and refunds. Professional Conduct: Maintain professional appearance and behavior, adhere to safety protocols, and participate in performance improvement.

Requirements:

Knowledge of PCMH Model, SC policies, medical billing practices, ICD-10, CPT coding, and computer software. Skilled in customer relations, computer use, and document examination. Ability to provide effective customer service, maintain professional relationships, and work in a fast-paced environment. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.

Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED. Certification in Billing and Coding or two years of experience as a medical biller/coder.

Special Instructions:

Requires handling cash, collections, payments, and billing. Must take five consecutive days of annual leave per year. Requires travel and a valid Texas driver’s license with liability insurance. May require extended hours to meet patient and departmental needs.
