Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a Medical Biller/Collections Specialist in Boca Raton, Florida. As a critical member of our team, you will be instrumental in handling various responsibilities related to medical billing and collections in the healthcare industry. Responsibilities: • Accurately process and verify insurance claims including private, Medicare, Workers' Compensation, PPO, and HMO claims. • Perform coding of claims with CPT and ICD-9 codes in accordance with medical records. • Manage the mailing process of claims to third-party payors. • Carry out general duties such as benefit verification, secondary insurance filings, and deposit slip completion. • Work with transcription services and electronic medical records. • Understand and manage managed care contracts and reimbursement processes. • Handle additional duties such as chart deficiencies in medical records and answering phones as assigned. • Utilize accounting software systems for various billing functions. • Conduct appeals and authorizations related to medical billing. • Apply knowledge of medical code and medical terminology in daily tasks. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in Medical Billing or Collections Specialist roles • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is required • Experience with EMR such as Allscripts, Modernizing Medicine, and Cerner Technologies is highly desirable • Familiarity with IMD and OPM is a plus • Strong understanding of Accounts Receivable (AR), Appeals, and Authorizations processes • Knowledge of Benefit and Billing Functions is essential • Medical Billing skills are a must-have • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to work independently and as part of a team • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy • Strong organizational and time management skills • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion • Willingness to continually update skills and knowledge as the field evolves.
